Getting set up
Four steps from nothing to trading with our tools on your chart.

Get the platform
Download NinjaTrader 8 from ninjatrader.com. It is free to use for charting, backtesting and simulated trading, so you can set everything up and test our tools before committing to anything. Live trading needs a licence or a broker account — check their site for current terms.

Connect your data
NinjaTrader needs a market data connection. Your broker usually provides one, or you can use a dedicated feed such as Kinetick. For futures you want real-time CME data; end-of-day data is enough for backtesting but not for trading live.

Install your LucidTicks tools
Every purchase arrives as a NinjaScript file in your members area. In NinjaTrader: Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On, pick the file, and restart the platform. Full instructions and the user manual sit alongside each download.

Register your machine ID
Our NinjaTrader tools are licensed to your PC. Find your machine ID under Help → About in NinjaTrader, then add it in the members area. You can register two machines, and they cover every NinjaTrader product on your account.

Common questions
Which version do I need?
NinjaTrader 8. Everything we build targets NT8 — nothing here runs on NinjaTrader 7.
Can I try things on simulation first?
Yes, and you should. NinjaTrader’s Sim101 account behaves like a live account for our tools, so you can learn a panel or strategy without money at risk. Guardian will happily monitor simulation accounts too.
Do I need a separate licence for each tool?
No. Your machine IDs cover every NinjaTrader product on your account. Buy a second indicator and it works on the same two machines without any further setup.
What if I change PC?
Edit your machine ID in the members area and we will move the licence across. You do not need to buy anything again.
Do your tools work with prop firm accounts?
Yes — that is largely what they were built for. TradePanelPro copies trades across funded accounts, and Guardian tracks each account’s drawdown and daily loss rules separately.
